Our Story
From a humble makeshift tent in Bahrain to one of the Arabian Gulf's major business houses — this is the story of Jan Bros.
Jan Bros is a family-owned business established in 1967 in Dubai, U.A.E. But the roots run deeper. In 1930, our founder, the late Mr. M. M. Joofri, left his native land at a young age and sailed to the Kingdom of Bahrain — a decision that changed his family's history forever.
After serving a local cafeteria for a couple of years, he started with nothing more than a gunny bag of salt and a gunny bag of charcoal under a makeshift tent. Within five years he had transformed that venture into a grocery shop in the heart of Manama city. The lane it sat on became popularly known as “Joofri Gali” (Joofri Lane).
Today, Jan Bros operates out of Dubai with branches in Oman, Bahrain, and Kuwait, serving markets across the entire MENA region, the Indian Subcontinent, and parts of Africa. The founding principles — integrity and social responsibility — remain at the core of everything we do.

It was a gruelling session at the Beauty World Exhibition held on April 15th, 16th, and 17th of April 2019. It was a huge success with thousands of visitors visiting the booth at the exhibition and showing interest in the range of products Henna Speedy had to offer.

After serving for 38 long years ( a good part of his life) Mr. Abdul Rahman Aydrusa (fondly called Keshtu) finally bid adieu from our service. He dedicated worker most of his life and worked day in, day out without an eye on the clock. He was ready to receive the containers at our warehouse […]
